How to Search the Canadian Power Directory
To search in all fields at once (company names, individual names and descriptions), use the main search bar at the top of the page. This may return a lot of results. If you want to see fewer records, choose the button labeled "Narrow your results".
To find a company by its company name, simply type the first few letters of the company name in the search bar.
To find companies by the type of business they are in (i.e. by choosing certain products or services), select the “business type” category under the search menu item.
You can narrow your search by selecting region as well as business type / category.
Please note that commas, apostrophes and periods can throw off alphabetization, so please use them only when necessary.
What information can people see about me?
From this platform people can find a full range of supplies and services for developing power generation projects. Site visitors can search by company name, business type or keyword using the handy search features. This is your Virtual Trade Show platform. Add all kinds of useful information about your company. Highlight your products and services, include images, links and social media handles.
Logging on for the first time
If you are logging on for the first time it's best to start by opening a recent email from APPrO. Each registrant was sent a message with “Login credentials for Canadian Power Directory Online” in the subject line, which contains your login credentials.
If you don’t have easy access to that message, go to the directory at this address (Directory.appro.org) , select “"Edit My Setting" (at the top), then “Send me a fresh login link” and enter your email address. A new welcome message should be sent to you within a minute or so. It should be headed "Login credentials …" You can also use the username and password combination if you prefer.
When you’re done editing your record, remember to log out: The logout link is under “Edit my listing”.
Avoid problems – use the Auto login link
The most common problems are caused by trying to enter usernames and passwords unnecessarily. Getting the username and password right is relatively exacting. However clicking on an auto login link is almost foolproof. Please be sure to use only the most recent auto login link, which you should be able to find in the most recent message from our automated system titled “Login credentials for Canadian Power Directory Online ”.
How to change the email address that appears in your published directory listing
Using the “Edit My Listing” function you may change the email address that is published online as part of your directory listing. However, editing the published email address will not change the email address that is already set up as your username. When your account was created, the email address of record was established for managing your directory account. This address will continue to be your username, and it will continue to be used to send administrative messages to you about your directory listing. If you want to change the email address of record (i.e. your username) please contact the APPrO office.
Getting a new password or “Refreshing your credentials”
There are two ways to get into the directory: With a username and password combination, or by using a secure personalized auto login link. The second approach is easier because you can log on with just one click.
Either way, if you want new or refreshed credentials, go to the directory at this address (https://directory.appro.org/ ) , and select “Edit My Listing” then “Send Fresh auto-login link” and enter your email address. A new welcome message should be sent to you within a minute or so. Please note that you must enter the same email address used when you registered your company in the APPrO directory.
Please be aware that whenever you request a “Fresh login” as outlined above, your password will be changed automatically. As before, you can login with the link or with your email address and password, as long as you use the most recent credentials.
You can change the email address that the directory displays for others to reach you. However you cannot change your username (which is the email address used when you originally registered). Although your username is likely your email address, it is not visible to others browsing the directory unless you use the same email address for your published listing.
If you want to change your password to something you know and recognize
Passwords are normally set automatically by the system. If you want to change your password to something you know and recognize, log in first, then click on “Edit My Listing” and “Change Password” Be careful: Any previous passwords and secure auto-login links will no longer work.
If you want to change your username
Your username is the email address that was used when your directory account was originally created. The published email address that appears in your directory listing may appear to be the same address, but it is a different field. You can’t change the username yourself, but you can change your published email address in real time by logging in and selecting “Edit my listing.”
If you are having trouble logging out of the Directory on a mobile device
On some mobile devices the “Log out” button may be hard to find. If you need to logout from the directory on a mobile device, hit the “Home” button or “My Setting” button. “Logout” should then be visible at the bottom left.
Can I select more than one business type category?
Yes you can. In this platform, you can have one primary business type and multi secondary business type for your firm.
I've added a new city to my company address but I don't see it in the directory
All submissions are subject to approval by APPrO. After reviewing your submission, if it is approved, you will receive email from the APPrO Directory informing you that your submission has been approved and published in the Canadian Power Directory.
